• September 2011 - May 2013: \'Reading Matters\' learning tutor. In this role I was a voluntary personal tutor to a number of students whilst studying for my A-levels. Each student had difficulty in reading and writing, however through my tutoring they were all able to significantly improve their reading, writing and verbal communication skills. This role involved being trained for two weeks by a representative from the \'Reading Matters\' association.
  
  September 2013 - June 2014: Voluntary work experience in a local primary school. In this role I volunteered to work in a local primary school in my spare time, this involved working under the guidance of a teacher. My role was to work on an individual basis with children who were struggling in class, as well as planning and teaching lessons to the whole class. I did this whilst studying during my first year at university.
  
  June 2014 - October 2014: Teaching English as a foreign language. In this role I was part of a voluntary programme to teach English as a foreign language in Lille, France, to children between the ages of 10 - 15. This role also included three weeks of training in the best methods of teaching English to foreign children.
  
  October 2014 - May 2015: Voluntary work experience in a local high school. In this role I volunteered to work in a local high school in my spare time, this involved planning and teaching lessons to the whole class as well as supporting the teacher in her role, in any way that I could. I did this whilst studying during my second year at university.
  
  May 2015 - May 2016: I spent one year working as a private tutor, teaching a range of different subjects, including English and Religious Education, to students between the ages of 13 - 18. The sessions typically lasted for one or two hours. In this role I was able to use the previous experiences I had gained during my voluntary experiences in schools and as a tutor. I did this during my free time in the summer, and whilst studying for my third year at university.
  
  May 2016 - August 2016: Working as a camp counsellor in Pennsylvania, USA. I spent three months working at a summer camp in the United States of America. This role involved planning the daily activities for 5-12 children who were between the ages of 11-17. As well as making sure the children are generally cared for and behaving in an appropriate manner.
  
  August 2016 - January 2017: Upon my return from America, I spent several months working as a freelance private tutor in England, again gaining more valuable experience and knowledge. This role was mainly teaching foreign adults who wanted to improve their oral English. My students were all very satisfied with their learning progress. During this time, I began to explore teaching opportunities in Asia and started applying for jobs.
  
  February 2017 - Present: METEN English, China. In February I found a job teaching English as a Foreign Teacher in Ningbo, China, working with the well know and reputable METEN English school. This job involves working with both children and adults, and allows me to work with students of all levels. From those who can speak little or no English and need to improve their grammar and pronunciation, to those who have good English skills and are interested in improving their business English and conversational skills. This position has given me valuable experience of teaching English to large classes, to learners of different levels and different ages.
