Rachael Goba has nine years of work experience in implementing and coordinating Child protection, Adolescent development and HIVAIDS programmes. Her current employer is Mashambanzou Care Trust as a project officer in the child protection department. Prior to that, she was employed by AFRICAID as the Regional Coordinator for the Children, adolescents and young people living with HIV programme. Her work experience has contributed immensely in the improving and attainment of good child protection programmes and sexual reproductive health status of young people in Zimbabwe as she has coordinated the programme in all provinces of the country at national level. Additionally, she is a certified National Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Trainer (2011) and also certified Regional Mentor in Comprehensive Sexuality Education using the Process Oriented Approach by Save the Children International (2013) and a Trainer in Parent Child Communication. Her work experience has equally given her advocacy skills for orphans and vulnerable children’s rights, gender, psychosocial support skills, HIV/AIDS programming children and marginalized groups, results based management, proposal writing and research skills, networking skills with key partners and donors (PEPFAR, CIFF, CIDA, IPPF, SIDA, GLOBAL FUND), leadership and project management at both implementing and coordinating levels. At national policy level, Rachael has led the taskforce team in the Mid- Term review of the Zimbabwe National ASRH Strategy 2010-2015 and the New National ASRH Advocacy Strategy both conducted in 2013. In addition, she was also a member of the writing team of the National ASRH Training Manual in 2012. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Environmental Health from Solusi University, Zimbabwe, a Post Graduate Certificate in Working with Children, families and Communities affected by HIV/AIDS, Conflict, Poverty and Displacement in Africa from University of KwaZulu Natal South Africa.
