AMERICAN ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION and ACCENT REDUCTION
with Master\'s degree in Linguistics and over 12 years of experience

Unlike most ESL teachers, I hold a Master\'s degree in Applied Linguistics (UT Arlington, 1995). In other words, I have the training to help my students with their accent and pronunciation. Check out the reviews in my profile. I have helped many students reduce their accents. That is the first step to being understood.

I can:

• Show you how to control those sounds that are hard to make and hear. (I mean, all of our mouths are made the same, right?)

• Teach you American English intonation, cadence, etc.

• And teach you American English word structure: syllable stress/accent, syllable types, etc.

LEARNER CENTERED

My teaching style is learner-centered and learner directed. This means that each session is for you and not for me. My lesson plan is always flexible. If you want to drill sounds for an hour, I will be patient. If you want to lighten up and have a relaxed conversation, I will accommodate. If you want something in-between, just let me know!
