简介:
I have thirteen years of teaching experience in Thailand from teaching first grade level to eighth grade level to specialized language schools in both suburban and urban school districts.
I also have a diverse background with much to offer. Besides being an English and Literature teacher I have accepted opportunities to develop my skills to teach science, mathematics, information and technology, art and music as well.
I have always enjoyed taking the role of a teacher of different subjects researching, locating and incorporating a variety of resources to accommodate students via visual, audio, tactile and kinaesthetic methods.
My teaching has always been greatly influenced by Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy. His ideas helped me to create a classroom environment where dry and academic subjects are internalized through play and adventure, where children can experiment and discover the wonders of the world by themselves.
I believe that each student has his or her own way of learning, each of them has something that they are good at or they are enthusiastic about which teachers can use in the learning process.
This is why I think that lesson planning for a class of students of different learning habits and abilities is a priority, there always has to be alternative lesson plans for each lesson of the week.
Differentiation supports children to develop their own unique voices to face today’s challenges and appreciate the world they live in.
Also as a staff member I have always volunteered my time and energy to assist various committees at schools. I planned, developed and delivered a range of activities for English Camps. These activities focused on team building, group cohesiveness, communication skills and an opportunity to practice and develop conversational English skills.
I have a very strong interest in pursuing a professional teaching career. Teaching in Thailand has been a great opportunity for me to meet children of different socioeconomic backgrounds to study their attitudes to learning and the way they approach education. It has also brought me closer to understanding the importance of teaching methodologies in increasing children’s awareness of the process of learning and arousing their interest in the faculties they will need in later life to be equipped for work in modern society.
The challenge of making children enjoy learning made me a versatile, motivating teacher who never missed an opportunity to encourage his students to take that necessary step forward to better understanding.
