• My studies on Didactics gave me the opportunity to perform as an English teacher during two years; by planning lessons, creating and applying teaching materials to implement the different abilities of the English language. Afterwards, I spent three years working as a local tour guide in a travel agency where I also taught English to the office staff during ten months.   • During my last year at the University I carried out an investigation that enclosed the analysis of the main tendencies in oral communication, the teaching-learning process of English I in Tourism Major at the University of Holguín as well as a proposal of a set of activities aimed at solving some difficulties in the teaching of this subject taking into account the students were not motivated towards the English lessons and the reduced link between the textbook with the students\' professional profile.
    I was very satisfied with the results of that research, because once applied, the activities became a useful tool for English teachers to develop the academic skills regarding oral communication the students of Tourism Major need in order to accomplish a successful career according to their future professional work.
