简介:
As my resume indicates I have completed a total of three degree-programmes. These include BSc and MSc degrees in Microbiology and a post-graduate diploma in education. In addition, I have about fourteen years of teaching experience in the field of Biology. My professional history spans nine years as Biology Teacher tutoring Cambridge ‘A’ levels as a follow up to almost five years of teaching ‘O’ level Biology.
I have overtime explored a number of pedagogical techniques like differentiated and blended learning and been exposed to a number of training programmes like the Intermediate Cambridge International AS and A level Biology and Extension Cambridge International AS and A level biology courses. My performances in the last three ‘A’ level exams, range between 70-100% success rate. I have created a number of assessment-for learning devices also, like the \'mind box\' and ‘picture quiz’ along the way.
In my last employment I worked with students within the age of 14-19 years undertaking CIE AS and A2 programmes as well as NCUK-IFY (Foundation) programmes though I’ve had over a year’s experience of teaching checkpoint or lower secondary science. My major responsibilities included teaching Cambridge AS and A2 Biology, conducting Biology practicals, pastoral support for a group of select students in line with the school’s mentoring programme and functioning in the capacity of the Project Based Learning (PBL) coordinator. As the PBL coordinator I was saddled with the responsibility of educating teachers and students alike on research methods, organizing viva sessions and coordinating theses assessment with the help of a team of teachers in a bid to provide a more wholesome scholarship to the A level students as they transit into their various tertiary institutions.
Currently, I teach IGCSE chemistry and biology in addition to CAIE AS and A level biology at the International School of Seychelles. I also engage in pastoral care for a set number of students who I cater to psychologically, socially and academically. I am currently undertaking an online MA in education programme with the University of South wales in the UK as a developmental initiative.
